The Geopark Merangin Jambi Management Agency supports the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between Universitas Muara Bungo and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta. This collaboration focuses on environmentally friendly mining to achieve the conservation and sustainability of natural resources from both economic and environmental perspectives.

The Mining Engineering Department of Universitas Muara Bungo, represented by Devit Rahmawati, S.T., M.T., Irfan Satria Permana, S.T., M.T., Desmawita, S.T., M.T., and Faisal Ryanda Fermadi, along with faculty members from the Mining Engineering Department of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta, including Ir. Wawong Dwi Ratminah, M.T., Ir. Peter Eka Rosadi, M.T., and Dr. Ir. Rika Ernawati, S.T., M.Si., visited the Secretariat of the Geopark Merangin Jambi Management Agency. Their visit aimed to engage in a joint discussion and gain a deeper understanding of the unique features and strengths of the Geopark Merangin Jambi area.

The researchers and lecturers expressed strong interest in Merangin Regency's geological uniqueness and efforts in environmentally friendly energy management. They highlighted the importance of preserving and protecting the area's geological and mining resources from exploitation. Ensures that the region remains a valuable site for research and serves as a location for students to participate in field practices.

Universitas Muara Bungo also hopes, especially for the Mining Engineering Department, that the Geopark Merangin Jambi area can be a practical field site for students, particularly in studying petrology and geological structures as an introduction to mining and geological resources. Today's agenda also included visiting the geopark information center and a field tour of the leaf fossil site at Muara Karing.
