Merangin Sumatran Robusta Coffee
Sumatra Merangin Robusta Coffee is a geographically indicated product grown in the Mount Masurai Complex at an elevation of 1,000–1,200 meters above sea level, on volcanic eruption material that gives it a distinctive and unique flavor profile. This coffee has earned the title of Indonesia’s best coffee at the SCAI Bali 2018 and SCAI Bandung 2019 events.
Sumatra Merangin Robusta Coffee is produced under various brands by indigenous community groups in Merangin Regency, such as Pansi Coffee, LM Jangkat, Ladjang Coffee, and several others, all united under the Merangin Social Geographic Indication Protection Community (MPIG-MS’J). It is one of the flagship geoproducts of the Merangin Jambi UNESCO Global Geopark–Indonesia.
In its processing, the coffee is produced hygienically by trained and professional workers under the guidance of the Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS) and the Lembaga Tiga Beradik (LTB). With strict adherence to established SOPs, Sumatra Merangin Robusta Coffee has successfully entered export markets in various countries and has become one of Indonesia’s leading products.
