Sengayau Cave Complex

The karst landscape in the form of meta-limestone interspersed with limestone shale and above dolomitan limestone, is stratigraphically a member of the Peneta Formation Mersip (KJPm) which is Late Jurassic. In this geosite there are several caves that form a cave complex along the main cave. besides that there are also vertical caves that we rarely encounter. One of the caves in the Sengayau complex is the mosque cave because of the formation of stalactites in it. The character of the cave in this geosite has a long cave passage and is interconnected with other cave doors. It is estimated that there are 100 caves that have not been mapped and explored further.
