Granitoid Rock of Air Batu

Is aIs a rock unit that is generally eroded and faulted, and strongly weathered; broke through the Mengkarang and Telukwang Formation, and came into tectonic contact with the Peneta Formation. The absolute age of rock units is 231 – 179 Ma or the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic which is known as Tantan Granite. The outcrops are located on the left and right of the Merangin River around Airbatu Hamlet. Biotite-hornblende granodiorite, modified, some hornblende converted into biotite and chlorite; sericite is a modification of plagioclase and orthoclase, while kaolin is derived from orthoclase; containing diorite-quartz senolite. This rock consists of granite, and granodiorite. Biotite-hornblende granite, modified; some of the plagioclase is converted to chlorite and epidote; hypidiomorphic - subporphyritic; the phenocrysts of K-Na feldspar are partially chloritated and caolinated; some plagioclase, orthoclase, and quartz form a granophyte texture.
