Geopark Expo

Merangin Jambi Geopark is part of 10 Geoparks in Indonesia with World Geopark status, and heading to a World Geopark at the Global Geopark Expo was held at the Auditorium of the Bandung Geological Agency.
The event began with the Socialization of Technical Guidelines for Determining National Geopark by the speaker of the Head of the Geological Survey Center of the Bandung Geological Agency. The event was attended by all Geoparks and aspiring National Geopark in Indonesia to share experiences and knowledge for the advancement of Earth Parks/Geoparks in Indonesia.
The next series of events was the UNESCO Global Geopark Expo which consisted of 9 booths, namely the Toba Caldera Geopark, Belitong Geopark, Merangin Jambi Geopark, Ciletuh Pelabuhan Ratu Geopark, Gunung Sewu Geopark, Ijen Geopark, Rinjani Geopark, Maros Pangkep Geopark, and Raja Ampat Geopark with displays information related to the geological, cultural and biological heritage and typical geo-products of each geopark.
The Expo was held as a display of the World's Geoparks in Indonesia to display the geopark conditions, potential, and advantages. As expected of the Expo events, the geopark network in Indonesia can build better and stronger. It needs to spread the related information about geopark as extensively to the community at all levels.
