2024 Merangin Scout Service Camp

As part of the "2024 Merangin Scout Service Camp" held at the Merangin Scout Campground in Sungai Ulak Village, Nalo Tantan District, Geopark Merangin Jambi educational session was conducted by Eko Wahyudi, representing the Merangin Jambi UNESCO Global Geopark management.

The session introduced the unique features and rich diversity of the Merangin Jambi UNESCO Global Geopark, emphasizing the Scouts' role in nature conservation. Key points included proper waste disposal, protecting rocks and fossils within the Geopark by avoiding graffiti or damage at tourist sites, and actively promoting awareness of the Geopark to peers.

The Scouts showed high enthusiasm, reflected in an engaging Q&A session. Among the questions were the formation processes of Lake Pauh and Lake Depati Empat, the presence of marine fossils within the Geopark, and ways they could support Merangin Jambi UNESCO Global Geopark.

Through these educational activities, the Geopark management aims to increase public awareness, foster a sense of ownership, and encourage active participation in preserving this Earth heritage.
