The Sayak Dance is a traditional dance that developed in Air Batu Village, Renah Pembarap District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. In ancient times there was a customary law in Air Batu Village that prohibited Sayak Dance dancers from being played by women because women were prohibited from being present in public and were considered inappropriate to watch because they were not muhrim.
