Nearing the Assessment, the Vice Regent with the Team Monitoring Geopark

The Civil Apparatus of the Merangin Regency Government asked to Implement Mutual Cooperation on some points.

Bangko-Nearing the Merangin Jambi Geopark assessment by the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) evaluation team on 6-11 October 2022, the Vice Regent of Merangin, Mr. Nilwan Yahya and his entourage monitored the condition of the Geopark in some spots, on Saturday (01/10).

First, the vice-regent accompanied by Mrs. Malla, the consultant who composed the Merangin Jambi Geopark dossier, and Mrs. Magdalena, a lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology in Jambi University and also a geologist, rock expert, and the entourage monitored the Teluk Wang Sakti area.  Furthermore, the vice-regent, accompanied by the General Manager of Merangin Jambi Geopark, Mr. Dr. Agus, Head of Public Works and Public Housing, Mr. Zulhifni, Head of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. M. Arief, Head of Agriculture, Mr. Selamet, Head of Social Affairs, Mr. Elvis, Head of Licensing Office, Mr. Ibrahim and other officials monitored the Mengkaring Waterfall area.

"Thank God, we have monitored two points of the Merangin Jambi Geopark area with the team. We have to improve various preparations, including cleanliness. Because there should be no plastic waste in the area,'' said the Vice Regent.  The Vice Regent invited all visitors in the two locations to jointly maintain cleanliness. Mr. Nilwan also saw the lack of trash cans provided at the two points of the Merangin Jambi Geopark area.  Interestingly, the Vice Regent entourage arrived at Mengkaring Waterfall at around 12.15 pm and finished monitoring the Batang Merangin riverbank. They had lunch together in the area with an interesting panorama.

Furthermore, the Vice Regent and his entourage do monitoring of the Merangin Jambi Geopark to the Air Batu Village area. The Vice Regent not only went down to the river to monitor the rocks of the Geopark but also monitored the Merangin Jambi Geopark Garden.  Meanwhile, the Civil Apparatus in the ranks of the Merangin Regency Government from this morning have carried out mutual cooperation at some points in the Merangin Jambi Geopark area.  The Civil Apparatus have divided at some points in the Merangin Jambi Geopark area, not only at these three points but also in the Rumah Tuo Rantau Panjang Tabir area and other spots. Each Local Government agency has the responsibility for Mutual Cooperation. (teguh/kominfo)
