Guguk Indigenous Forest

Guguk Indigenous Forest
This forest is a conservation forest managed by community groups, inaugurated in a joint decision format since 2003. Management is carried out based on local wisdom and has been running well. Because it is focused on conservation, certain regulations and prohibitions are enforced, while the use of forest products with economic value can only be done outside the area. Several types of fauna are protected in this area such as tigers, tapirs, deer, forest goats, kuau birds and other small vertebrate animals. The protected flora include rare tree species such as Shorea macroptera, Shorea parvifolia, Shorea acuminata, Hopea sangal and Shorea balanoides, as well as several trees that bear rare fruit. One that is quite popular in this forest is a tree with a diameter of 3 meters.
